Sunday morning worship serves a vital purpose in the life of believers, but it was never designed to be sufficient for complete spiritual development. According to Psalm 5, Sunday worship is primarily about bringing an orderly arranged offering to glorify God, not just to consume spiritual content. The early church provides a clear model for balanced Christian community. After 3,000 people were saved at Pentecost, Acts 2:42-47 shows they devoted themselves to teaching, fellowship, breaking bread, and prayer both in the temple together and in their homes. This wasn't an optional addition but central to how the church functioned. Jesus himself invented this small group model, choosing to develop his disciples through intimate community rather than large gatherings alone.
