The phrase judge not from Matthew 7:1 is often misunderstood and taken out of context. Jesus wasn't forbidding moral discernment but rather hypocritical, self-righteous condemnation. Christians are called to judge fellow believers with humility and love, not those outside the church. Biblical accountability requires both truth and love working together. We must first examine ourselves before addressing sin in others, approaching from a position of humility rather than superiority. The goal should always be restoration, not condemnation.
